Out in the vast scattered space; lies a star system, who's forth planet has been home to millions of species for over hundred thousands of years. We call it our home; earth. Many among those species have got extinct over time; because of natural disaster or predatory dominance or lack of resources or just could not't adapt with time etc. Fighting all those odds came to light a distinctive specie; they called themselves humans.
If we map out, us humans, on time line of earth or on life of earth, we are a very young specie. for example cockroaches are here before dinosaurs, crocodiles are here from dinosaurs era. and many others. All we humans did in beginning was migrate to warmer places in winter season, and to a cold place in summer. We were nomads; we hunted for food, lived in caves, we had hairs all over body to alter our body's temperature, we too stored fat in order to survive; just like all animals. So, how come we became this, the life we lead today, the so called urban life.
There was a revolutionary discovery of a very important thing; fire, and it changed everything. Now humans could protect themselves, learnt how to control fire. So by being able to control fire, they were able to make sharper weapons, and could roast the meat that they used to hunt. Now their food was much more softer, so they did not need bigger jaws anymore, hence resulting in our face cut today. But they still had to move from place in search of food. That's when by learnt who to grow our own food.
By using fire and food that we grew; we were now able to stay at one place. For the first time earth has seen a specie who walked out of nature's food chain, all the other animals were inter-dependent on nature but not humans not anymore. Before this nature was the top predator but now humans became nature's predator. Soon they formed tribes, divided land, conquered more land, sallied over oceans, killed, tamed and framed other animals, destroyed forest, fought, killed and murdered among each other. And we are not doing any different today. Sure we have become much more "civilized" now; running after a thing which we created to be in power; that thing is called money. The fight of this top predator is inevitable to doom.
From very young age, we all know what's right and what's wrong. All those corrupt politician and unethical bureaucrats know what's right and what's not. All the war we did just to satisfy our ego, we know it's bad. All air we pollute, all the waste we dump in land and water, all the trees we cut, each time we buy a plastic bag, each time we throw trash in street; we know in our heart that it's wrong. But still we are doing it. Why?
We have stepped on moon and about step on mars, it's hard to imagine someone who has done blunders while being aware of what he is doing; becoming so high and mighty. If only some other animal had too discovered fire, agriculture; then we will be able to see our place. No other specie was their to challenge us ; may be we would fall under the ones who got extinct.
From the discovery of fire to being in on other planet or satellite; sure we have come a very long, luxurious way but at what cost? Dinosaur did not even knew that their doom was coming for them; and we are acting as a catalyst in our's.
