LETTER TO MY CITY

Dear old friend,
How are you?, no one seems to be asking you this, and i'm sorry that we have been so harsh on you. We often crib about your lack of resources, traffic jams, water supply, litter, pollution, bad roads, etc.
You are just as same as any other city, struggling to find your existence, competing with other big cities that surround you.
But to me, your the place i call home. You gave me a place to live. As a kid, i learnt to ride cycle, with my friends used to roam around on summer vacations without a fear of getting lost. You gave me my friends, if i was in some other city i would have never met them. Saw the sun rising and sun setting, counted stars under your sky. It was you where i fell in love, and you supported me wen i had a broken heart. Got drunk with friends, sang my heart out on your roof tops and on streets. I know your every street, every corner, you make me feel safe and secure. You gave me peace a of mind, walked by my side on lonely nights. You saw my ups and downs, you never judged me, never tried to change me. You heard my thoughts and helped me find myself.
I hope people will  stop complaining about your down sides and start caring about you. You will always  find me by your side just the same way you are by mine. Take care.

Yours truly,
an old friend
